A b o u t m e

I was born and raised in Mexico City and moved to Texas in 2011. Being part of the ESL program when I first started school exposed me to cultures from around the world and needless to say it sparked an interest. I slowly became obsessed with learning about other people, their background, their views on the world and what really made them who they are.

I have found that every place has its own personality and character and that every person is simultaneously living their own life while also being part of a larger narrative. I find it so mind blowing that there are around 8 billion people on this earth and every single one of them has their own individual story to tell.

I didn’t find my passion for journalism until I took my first journalism class in college. I spontaneously changed my major right before class enrollment from biology to journalism, and it was quite honestly reckless… but oh so exciting.

My last semester of high school was extremely academically challenging as I attempted to prepare myself for a career in the sciences; even though I love biology and the mental challenge of scientifically understanding the world, I realized that I probably would not be able to experience the world around me.

I pondered the decision all summer and I eventually brushed it off as I knew nothing of journalism or blogging and making this big of a change scared every fiber of my being, but as destiny would have it, there was a problem with my enrollment date and the only way I could enroll in time for fall semester was to change my major.

Starting off in a completely different field of study, which for some reason seems to be highly populated with prodigies who found their passion since they were infants, was overwhelming and scarry, but I have slowly been able to find my way.

The more I learn, the more I want to pursue this career. My passion for traveling continues to grow along with my curiosity about other cultures and my desire to discover other untold stories.
